Here at Invoke Controls we undertake all Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning control installations. Whether it’s a plant room needing a simple optimiser/weather compensator or a fully integrated Building Management System (BMS), we can do it all.
A weather compensator is a system that controls your heating according to the outside temperature via an external sensor, mainly used in wet water systems. In early autumn or mid spring there may be a requirement for our heating to come on, however, there will be no requirement for the heating source to come on at 100% as and when our thermostats demand the heat. This is where weather compensation comes in and adjusts the flow temperature (heat supply) accordingly to the outside temperature i.e. the warmer the outside temperature the less demand on the heating source and vice versa.

Most people won’t realise this, but have you ever entered a hospital, shopping centre, restaurant or a leisure complex and thought that you’re too cold or too hot and stuffy? The answer will be no! This is because the environment in these buildings, and many more, are controlled by what’s known as a Building Management System. A BMS is an intelligent microprocessor controller that works in the background to not only control the HVAC environment but also controls the energy used efficiently.

Energy cost savings from a BMS system can vary from between 10% and 20% on average compared to standard methods, average Return On Investment is 2-5 years. A BMS will improve the reliability of plant as the system has the facility to log the plant operating hours, allowing for accurate planned preventative maintenance programmes. Also a BMS has the ability to notify facility people the failure of plant through an alarm system. BMS controllers are able to monitor your energy usage from electricity, gas/oil and water, by connecting your meters to the system. From this collection of data, you can then identify areas where energy is being used the most and subsequently plan for reductions in these areas.

BMS controllers are housed in control panels or outstations and can consist of a single outstation to a number of outstations located throughout your building.

Invoke Building Automations can design and manufacture control panels specific to your requirements, from small enclosures to floor standing cabinets. All of this is done in-house so we are in control of standards of workmanship and any time frames, reducing any potential problems or delays in delivering a project. Manufacturing of all control panels are carried out to BS EN 61439, forms 1,2,3 &4 and types 1-7.
At Invoke Building Automations we have more than 15 years’ experience carrying out plant room installations. Over the past 7 years we have carried out extensive control projects in the renewables sector including, biomass installations up to 2 MW, ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps and solar PV.
